Here’s your #TapeTuesday! Batman Forever – Original Music from the Motion Picture (1995)

Here's your #TapeTuesday. The Tim Burton produced Batman Forever was the third installment of the Batman films with Val Kilmer taking over for Michael Keaton. Other notable stars include Jim Carrey, Tommy Lee Jones, Nicole Kidman and Chris O'Donnell. Both William Baldwin and Ethan Hawke were considered for Batman but Kilmer won the role. The film was released on June 16th, 1995 to mixed reviews but huge ticket sales. The soundtrack was interesting. U2, who many had written off in 1995, had the first single with the epic, rocking "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" which was a decent hit. Second single "Kiss From A Rose" by Seal was the a huge crossover hit, odd since the song was a strange mix of balladry, quiet storm and alternative rock. Most of the other songs are great. The rag-tag Oklahoma band The Flaming Lips, teenage urban R&B queen Brandy, grunge songstress PJ Harvey, grunge/goth lord Nick Cave, Wu-Tang rapper Method Man, INXS rock god Michael Hutchence, trip hop auteurs Massive Attack and so-cal punkers The Offspring all were featured on this beautifully eclectic 1995 soundtrack. The colorful cinematic experience of Batman Forever was mirrored in the soundtrack. Purchased at Coconuts Music & Video June 1995. #BatmanForever #OriginalSoundtrack #ValKilmer #U2 #Seal #FlamingLips #MichaelHutchence #MassiveAttack #PJHarvey #Brandy #NicoleKidman #JimCarrey #Batman #AtlanticRecords
